Learning Outcome 1

At the beginning of the year, my annotating on readings were weak and I never took notes in class on the discussions we had. When I soon learned that each reading was connected to one another my engagement changed. My journals became more in-depth than what they were because some could be used in my essays. My annotating became more in-depth and I began to take notes in class. When editing my classmates writing I took Professor Miller’s advice when explaining more about how they should expand on their ideas and how to expand their essay as a whole. When these two things changed, I found my that my essays became easier to write because I had more information on the topics. My engagement with the class expanded from listening to taking notes and having different opinions/ideas on different topics. I believe my development has improved greatly from last semester and being in English 122. My growth mindset and the way I think about things has developed as well.
